Surf Starter Motors are NOT easy to remove Empty Surf Starter Motors are NOT easy to remove

After reading the how to here ( http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/starter.htm ) I thought this would be simple.

After 3 hours at it yesterday I have only got as far as undoing all the bolts and now trying to find safe passage of the motor out of the engine bay as I have already manged to catch either a clutch or brake line as a new drip seems to have appeared and it looks like brake fluid, installing better go smoother than removal.

And I still have the contact to replace once I actually get it out.

What didn't help was the step son saying i should turn into an angry ape and just rip it out to which he thought it would be funny to start jumping around like a money climb up over the truck falling off the side, cheered me up but he then became annoyed at the starter because supposedly it made him fall.

Well managed to get back out on the surf last night, well skinned knuckles but got motor out replaced guts of it then this morning got it back in a tightened.

Started on the button first turn of the key, which amased me as it has sat for at least 3 months.

So now just a couple tweaks here and there and she'll be ready to be failed by the MOT man next week.

Hope its not much as had the joy of losing my job on tuesday, so it is to get the toyota back on the road so I can sell the fiesta.

I know most would do it the other way around but I prefer the truck and the fiesta was bought purely for that job.

was a meter reader for a company Lowri Beck read everything from gas electric water meters, cmmercial, domestic even mobile phone masts. Which was great as got paid for off roading.

But hey shit happens its just to try and get something as soon as possible to keep money coming in.

Cheers for the offer hoping that the starter is the last big thing, as all it should need now is the exhaust, fog light re-attached and a bit of rust to deal with on the drivers door.

Too wet to do anything more tonight anyway

Its a funny thing, I seemed to have more time when I was in work.

Been kept busy doing odd jobs for people to try and keep money ticking over. The plan is to get underneath tomorow and get it all finished unless the phone rings.

How are your repairs coming along?
