Winch service Empty Winch service

Finaly got round to striping down the winch. lol it was what i thought full of water both sides. Gear box was drained, cleaned and regreased. Motor side also had water ingress, to a point that the brushes had seized in the holders, so it all been cleaned, regreased, and going to seal all the joints with a run of silicon.

Have also come to the conclusion that drain holes in winch plate are needed to help the water drain out quicker from the winch. Going to move control box while winch is off too.

A pictorial would have been nice Sad . But glad all is well. Where are you going to hide the box ?

just going to move up into space behind grill. relocate the plug for control wire.
