Security measures?
Has anyone had any experience in relation to their Landys getting nicked or eyeballed?
I've had some unwanted attention recently that has made me to take various security measures.
I never thought of Defenders as a car that would be an obvious target for theives but the other day I came out of Tesco and caught a guy right up at the driver side window looking in, he didn't see me coming up behind him, I asked "can I help you?" and he just scuttled off.
The other week I had my Landy checked out my a group boy racers in suped-up granny's cars, they were completely unaware that I was in the back wiring up my rear speakers, they were having a right good look around, should have seen their faces when I got out the back
Although it's unpleasant having to buy boring old security stuff instead of the next upgrade, I'm thinking it's not worth the risk.

Re: Security measures?
Unfortunately Land Rovers, particularly Defenders are very desireable to theives.
More often than not they have goodies fitted that are easy to sell, and the bolt together nature of a defender makes it easy to break for parts.
Money spent on anti theft devices is rarely wasted, and obvious deterrants like the clutch claw and disklock are often good enough to make a theif look for an easier target.
A tracker alarm is probably worthwhile, as I believe most police forces have cars fitted with the tracking technology now, so if it does get stolen, you have a good chance of getting it back, and catching the scum that took it!!
home made immobilisers are also great for foiling thieves that know the ins and outs of the typical ones on the market too!

Funny that you are seeing this Jammer as a mate of mine has had some stuff nicked of a discovery in the Nairn Area so i think Roz is right there is so much you can pinch of the landys.
I suppose you can put alarms on and it will deter most theives the same as trackers they are only any good if they steal th whole vehicle.
I have had a few reports of theives just taking parts of and having the brass neck to do it on the owners driveway.
So hard to no what security to put on a vehicle but at the end of the day if they want to steal it they will have it.
And in my experiance the police just dont want to no and cant and dont want to be bothered with it.

aye you can't stop a thief taking stuff but you can delay them, thereby increasing the risk of being caught and beaten to within an inch of their lives with a rusty wheel brace which may be enough to deter some opportunists.

You'll be safe if you're not nicking anything off my Landy.
