Inverness off road site
A new dedicated 4x4 site will be opening soon on the south side of Inverness.
The site is 60 acres and the owners have put in weeks of work with an excavator and chain saws etc. There is a 2 mile track which is usable with a standard smart vehicle - range rover etc, and there are extreem sections for the braver driver !
Roads have been carved out, bridges built and access opened up to allow trucks to get in to all areas
Some of the features built are, water holes, steep climbs, big steps, bomb holes etc. There is also to be a see-saw and a gravel hole filled with round stones.
There is a car park, picnic area, and trailer park.
The site has a lot of natural area for the "free range" driver, and trees have been brashed to allow more freedom in this area.
The official opening date will be announced soon.

I guess it is ! It's on the North East shore of Loch Duntelchaig @ 57-21-52n / 4-15-48w.

Still a wee bit out of the way, but great to see that not everyone is against the use of 4x4's!
Is it a private landowner that has created it? and does it have a name yet?

Cool ! sounds like fun and its good to hear that there will be something for everyone there.
My old disco is nearing the end of its renovation and if time and energy allow it should be MOTd by end of the month. can't wait to get the old girl back on the road and off road too.
Hope to be ready to get to brahn aswell... i am winchless and no mud tryes so hope there are places to drive.

Private land, and developed by the owners. The final name is yet to be decided !

Re: Inverness off road site
Not meaning to sound girlie, but will there be some kind of map or similiar in place as that was my only grumble over Brahan was that unless you got a hold of a regular you had no idea where you were going ie: novice, general, difficult, extreme and so on.
But sounds excellent

Sure, the courses are marked out with white and red posts etc. There is also a bypass for the extreme bits if you feel it is too much for the vehicle.
Re: Inverness off road site
Just on and seen this thread this is just what we need guys i have really missed Brahan.
Cant wait to get up there and try it out when it opens maybe as part of this forum we could all get regular meets ?

Re: Inverness off road site
Will definately be going when this opens!
Not to much of a travel from Ellon so don't need to tow the oil rig behind the Jeep for petrol! Good that they have different grades, I also don't have mud tyres (only road tyres - but that is changing when I do the next MOT.) Just got to keep it a secret from the wife, so does anybody know of a decent car wash place between there and Ellon?
