A wee update. The black Jimnys gone now. I needed a more practical tow car.
So bought a 3rd Gen Surf.
SJ's finished and been out on the hill twice.
Then we had the chance to buy a crackin Jimny,we needed something road legal.......so here it is.

If your thinking of getting a jimny for on and off road use, they are great. Ours off road is great, but on road it's a bit of a handfull. My mates got a standard Jimny with Insa turbo Special tracks. Great off road and great on road as well. If you plan to modify a jimny and use every day, maybe a 2" suspension lift and slightly bigger tyres. But not to big so the gearing don't get to messed up. If you goto 3" on suspension you need to start replacing, radius arms and panhard rods. Mind you,you can get castor correction bushes which are way cheaper than radius arms.
Our Jimnys got a 4.5" lift, think the whole kit was over 1200 quid !! You can always add a 2" body lift to your 2" suspension lift if you want extra affordable lift.
Jimnys are lightweight and agile off road, and a standard one will sit at 70 on the motorways all day long. But next to zero boot space, all depends on your personal preference and what you require as a daily driver.
If you want any more info on jimnys www.bigjimny.com is a great site and uk based.
Cheers.
