Re: Did it pass
I am getting really fed up with MOT centre's, the guy refused to do it saying it was to dirty/muddy underneath. Which is wasn't as I just undersealed my self and spent ages cleaning the damned thing. So I was good enough to report him to VOSA just because I was that naffed off.
so I am going to phone Finnies tomorow and see if they can fit me in as supposedly they give you a week to fix it and don't re-charge you. Then once that is out the way it will then be a simple case of playing with my big red 22 inches of fun trying to get it to fit.

Re: Did it pass
So landie failed MOT, but only on easy fix things things, front brakes inbalanced and rear brakes inbalanced and a blown bulb that got marked down because I had failed anyway.
So 10 days to to fix and it gets a free re-test.
Finnies excellent garage would highly recommend!!

Re: Did it pass
fingers crossed it should be, ordered new brake shoes for rear now its just a case of getting everything properly adjusted and getting the magic green bit of paper. Good news is the guy at finnies says to come down and use there machine to check brakes are even before using up my free re-test.

Re: Did it pass
Bloody thing failed again, The flasher for the indicators gave up the ghost so it was blinking too slow, 10 min job and unit replaced and all bulbs just to be safe , will now try again on wednesday.
I am starting to think someone has put a curse on me.

Re: Did it pass
Well another bloody fail!!
New stuff this time though
Rear brakes binding
Front shocker bush.
I actually suspect the rear brakes are the apprentices fault yank on the handbrake and pulling the expander to far out on the trans brake ( in effect permantly on), as everything was fine on the way to the test centre and when the guy shouted me through asking if the adjusted right, I backed the adjusters on the rear wheels right off for him and it made no difference.
So it is now to get it all sorted and back in for re-test and fails again knock the guy out and pass it on the computer my self

Not sure as didn't pay too much attention when they where on the rollers
Re: Did it pass
when you fitted the rear adjusters what colour were they as there is two types black and silver they are different sizes. the kit it comes in should of had both sizes in it one uses the washers from the kit and one does not did you make sure the ones you fitted were the same as the old ones .you would of noticed the trany brake being to tight as it makes the entire vehicle vibrate when over adjusted,

Re: Did it pass
Ye used black adjuster as advised in the paperwork.
Having sitting trawling the interweb I have discovered that it won't be the tran brake due to the differential, apoligies to Andrew when he phoned today and suggested this.
So it seems it is just bad luck for both brakes to have passed on monday for the re-test and both have tighten up mysteryisly at the test centre today, will strip down tomorow and have a look, have bought new return springs top and bottom both sides anyway so will report my findings tomorowafter stripping down and fitting them.
Bush seems a straight forward swap out only problem getting enough compresion on bush to get split pin back in
Will be a busy morning tomorow
